My favorite gadget in my kitchen is my pressure cooker, I absolutely love it. It makes me work less, saves lot of time, energy efficient. I used pressure cooker to prepare this yummy kurma and it can be done in just 15 mins. So here goes the recipe.

 

Serves – 2
Preparation time – 5 mins
Cooking time – 15 mins
Ingredients :

  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Dry Red Chilli Whole – 1 no
  • Curry Leaves – few
  • Onion (Chopped) – 1 small
  • Tomato (chopped) – 1 big
  • Potato – 1 medium
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Water – 1 1/2 cups depends on your pressure cooker capacity

For masala :

  • Red Chilli Powder – to taste
  • Salt – to taste
  • Roasted Chanadal Powder – 3 Tbsp
  • Garlic – 2 pods
  • Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
  • Dry Coconut Powder – -2 Tbsp
  • Garam masala Powder – 1/2 tsp

Procedure :

Heat up the pressure cooker pan, add in the oil, heat it up, add mustard seeds allow to pop and add in cumin seeds and allow to sizzle followed by curry leaves, red chilli whole.

Add onion cook for 2 mins, meanwhile blend all the ingredients under masala.

Again come back to the pressure cooker and add tomato, potato, ground masala, turmeric powder,enough water and cover to cook till you listen 1 to 3 whistles. (depending on how soft you like your vegetables)

Serve hot with rotis or any Indian bread.
