Majjiga Charu

Majjiga Charu is a very very popular recipe does’nt need any introduction to anybody in Andhra… Very tasty, very very easy moreover very very healthy way of adding
yogurt into your diet… So enjoy this delicious dish.

Ingredients :

  • Coconut – 2Tbsp
  • Green chillies – 15 or to taste
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Onion – 2 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves – few
  • Perugu – 1 1/2 cups
  • Roasted Chanadal Powder (Pappula Podi) – 4 Tbsp
  • Water – 2 cups

Seasoning :

  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Red chillies – 2 broken
  • Curry Leaves – 1 sprig

Procedure

Step 1 : Beat the yogurt and smoothen it then add water into it.
Step 2 : For the spice mix blend green chillies, coriander leaves, garlic, coconut, salt, mustard seeds and onion into a smooth paste, mix it with yogurt.
Step 3 : Add the roasted chanadal powder into the yogurt mixture and break all the lumps.
Step 4 : For making chanadal powder just blend the roasted chanadal into a powder.

For Seasonig

Step 1 : Heat oil in a small pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli whole, and curry leaves.
Step 2 : Add this seasoning into the yogurt mixture.
