Paala Kova – Milk Pudding

Can you believe? Now you can make this creamy Paala Kova  in just _DSC0065-001 5 mins :)







Serves – 4
Preparation time – 1 min
Cooking Time – 4 mins


  • Sweetened condensed milk – 1 can 14 oz
  • clarified butter – 2 Tbsp
  • Yogurt – 3 Tbsp
  • Saffron – few strands
  • Edible Silver leaves – optional
  • Pistachios(slices) – 1 Tbsp
  • Cardamom POwder – 1/8 tsp
  • Nutmeg Powder – two pinches


  1. In a microwave safe deep bowl add in condensed milk, yogurt, ghee, cadamom powder, nutmeg powder.
  2. Mix them well.
  3. Add Saffron Strands. Mix well.
  4. Micrawave for 2 mins
  5. Mix well and microwave for 2 mins in 1 min interval.
  6. Rest for 1 hour and top it with some pistachios and edible silver foil.
  7. Enjoy :)

    Can i use evaporated milk..instead of sweetened condensed milk for a sweetless kova to use in moghalai dishes? If so, should i still use butter and yoghurt with evaporated milk while eliminating the other ingredients?

    Hi Shruthi,
    can you please post palakova recipe on stove top.

      Use the same ingredients as the microwave recipe and cook the mixture continuosly to get the Pala Kova using stove top.

    I am Gowthami, i like your recipes i prepared bhakshalu after visit your show it comes very good and nice and then i have to prepare pala kova but its not get good am using stove instead of oven i dont know how much i have to keep on stove its became caramel choclate. could you tell me how to do that

      You should have done it in the microwave as instructed. Stove top cooking is different. Cooking time differs. Will post the paal kova recipe on stove top soon.
